This painting is really close to my heart. I always bring this one with me when I move – it has hung in my high school bedroom, my college dorm room, my first college house, and my first apartment. This painting started out as a waterfall. I really wasn’t happy with it, so I painted an abstract over it using a ragging technique. For a year or so, this painting hung on my wall as an abstract. Then, I worked on another painting called Dissolve, where I added a dissolving face over a ragged abstract. I really liked the end result of that painting, so I decided to make a series of dissolving-face paintings (I never actually ended up doing more than two, but that’s okay). I had recently started practicing mediation, so I made the dissolving face into a Buddha. This painting still brings me a lot of peace and serenity when I look at it, and it will probably always be on my wall.
