Pencil on paper

I took a drawing class in the fall of 2019, and we spent a lot of time practicing the basic forms (blocks, spheres, etc.) as well as perspective. At the same time, I was doing some research into cubism and looking at old cubist artworks. As a result, my doodling style started to shift. I began using basic structural forms, but arranged in the shattered compositions of cubist artworks. Instead of being flat and pattern-based, my doodle/drawing style became more sculptural and angular. This drawing is an early example of that doodling style.
