Watercolor on paper

I made this piece for a painting class. It was a dry day in Portland (rare in the winter), so I wanted to paint outside. Throughout college, I would always hangout at this little park by my house called Columbia Park. I would go there to run, read, draw, paint, and walk – it was my own little sanctuary. Since the park meant a lot to me, I decided to paint it for my watercolor assignment. I got my supplies, walked over there, and setup on a table. As I was painting, an older couple sat on the bench in front of me with their dog – so, I quickly added them into the composition before they moved. Overall, it was a really nice painting experience and a cool memento of my favorite park.
